Conducting Step 4 - Spell Words
- In Step 4, a dictation list is provided with words using previously taught sounds, blends, or rules. In addition, after Step 5 has been taught at the current level, new content will populate at the bottom of this dictation list reflecting concepts taught in previous sessions at this same level. This allows students an opportunity to practice their newly learned skills.
- Click the forward arrow in the Slide Controller.
- The Touch Spelling icon displays, to remind students to Touch Spell each word before they write it. Click the forward arrow again to move to the next slide.
- The Writing Prompt slide indicates that students should write as you dictate. Dictate as many of the words and phrases/sentences listed in the lesson plan as you are able to in the time allotted for this step.
- When you finish dictating or the recommended time for this step is up, click Next Step to move on to Step 5 - New Material.
- In SS1 and SS2, the Next Step button is to the left of the Slide Controller.
- In Secondary 1, the Next Step button is above the Slide Controller to the right.
