In the Sonday System digital platform, several reports are available for teachers and administrators to view metrics on program usage and student performance. This article highlights the Usage report.

To access and analyze the Usage report (Teachers):
- Log in to Imagine Sonday System Digital.
- If you are a member of more than one license group, select a license group.
- Open the drop-down menu by your name and then select Reports.
- Click the Usage Report tile.
The report opens. Use the tabs and filters at the top to select the data you want to view.
Tabs:
The report opens on the All classes tab. This tab has a section for every digital Sonday program you teach. If you prefer, you can click a program-specific tab to see data for one program at a time. Or, select the Outside best practice tab to focus only on the classes that may need some attention.Filters:
The top of the report also contains filters. The default filters are:- Start date - End date: Defaults to the previous week that ended yesterday. Today's data cannot be included in the report. When you select a date range, the entire date range must be in the same school year (July 1st–June 30th).
- Class: Defaults to All
After making changes, click Reset to revert the Class filter back to the default. When you move from tab to tab in the report, your filter selections will persist.
The Usage report defaults to a roll-up/summary view of all your classes, separated by product.
Navigation Tips
- Change the sort order of the columns by clicking the triangles to the right of the column headers.
- Expand/contract a table using the caret to the left of the program name.
Analyze the report using the information below. The columns in the report are the same in all tabs. They are as follows:
Column Name Description Class name An alphabetical list of each class in your purview in this License Group. Product This column appears for Essentials classes only. The abbreviation is for the grade level of the program that class is using:
- EK = Essentials Kindergarten
- E1 = Essentials Grade 1
- E2 = Essentials Grade 2
- E3 = Essentials Grade 3
- E4 = Essentials Grade 4
- E5 = Essentials Grade 5
Level The level the class was working on. There will be a row for each level the class worked on. Avg. time per session The average time the class spent working on this particular level. In SS1, SS2, and SSS1, you're expected to work multiple sessions in each level. This column is the average time per session for this level. (If there was only 1 session, then the average time will be the same as the actual time.)
The time is displayed in minutes and seconds and is color-coded according to how well it compares to the recommended* 30 to 40 minutes to allot for each session.- A red background means the time was substantially shorter or longer than the recommended.
- A yellow background indicates the lesson was somewhat shorter than expected.
A green background shows that the time spent on the lesson closely matches the suggested timeframe.
The key at the top of the report provides the logic used for the color-coding:
Sessions completed The number of times you worked on this level with your class.
The thickness of the border on each cell in this column corresponds to how well the number of sessions your class has completed matches the recommended* number.
The key at the top of the report provides the logic used for the thickness of the border:
If the number of times you've taught this level matches the range of recommended times (in the Recommended sessions column), there will be no border.
Recommended sessions The number of sessions recommended, or typical, for this particular level and product.
*This is meant to be a guideline only, based on the median range across students. The actual number of sessions you need will vary based on how long each group of students takes to reach mastery of the content in the level. It is more important to meet each student group's needs than to stay within recommended ranges, but if you find that you are regularly outside the recommended range, consider reaching out to Sonday Professional Development for implementation advice.Days on level The number of days you've spent on this level. - Change the sort order of the columns by clicking the triangles to the right of the column headers.
- Click a + sign to see the list of students in the class, along with their attendance data.
The area expands to display student-level data, as long as the Roster Type for the class is Students. From this table, you'll see attendance data particular to this class and to the time period you selected in the dates filter at the top of the report. If you want additional attendance data from other classes the student may be in or from a larger date range, click the name of a student to go to their Student Detail page. - To print the Usage report: Click the printer icon at the top of the page to the data in Excel format.
