Editing a class in Imagine Sonday System Digital

Administrators and Teachers can edit classes under their purview in the digital version of Sonday System. The following instructions are for teachers.

To edit an existing class:

  1. Log in to Sonday System Digital at teacher.imaginesonday.com.
  2. Access the Class Detail page of the class you wish to edit. Do so in one of the following ways:

    A. From the drop-down menu by your name in the top right corner of the dashboard, select Manage Classes.

    B. In the list of classes that opens, click Details in the applicable row.

  3. In the Class Detail page, click Edit in the Class Information section.

  4. Update the information as desired.

     Note

    The following fields display only when editing a class, not while creating it:

    • Display Override
    • Preferred System (When Class Type = Multi-Product and your school has assigned you SS1, SS2, or both)
    • Preferred Essentials (When Class Type = Multi-Product and your school has assigned you the E product)
    • Follow Code
    • Status

    Use the table below to learn more about each field:

    Field Description Default Value
    Class Name Create a unique class name to differentiate this class from other classes. None
    Class ID Optional field. Use if needed to keep track of the class ID as assigned by your school. None
    Class Type

    This field is only editable if a single Class Type was selected, not a Multi-Product Class.

    Select which product you will be using with this class, or, if you already have more than one product or you expect you will move from one product to another mid-year, select Multi-Product Class.

     Caution

    Once you save Multi-Product Class as the Class Type, you cannot change the class back to a single-product class. However, you will be able to edit the class and select your Preferred System and Preferred Essentials so the system can display current level and next lesson information on the Class Detail page.

    The single Class Type options are:

    • SS1 = Sonday System 1
    • SS2 = Sonday System 2
    • EK = Essentials Grade K
    • E1 = Essentials Grade 1
    • E2 = Essentials Grade 2
    • E3 = Essentials Grade 3
    • E4 = Essentials Grade 4
    • E5 = Essentials Grade 5
    • VOC = WinVocab 

     Note

    There is not a digital version of Let's Play Learn (LPL).

    Multi-Product Class
    Roster Type

    Select a type of roster for this class. 

    • Selecting Students allows you to track session history, student attendance, and assessments.
    • Selecting List Only lets you enter students’ names without any student data-tracking capabilities. This is useful if you only need to remember which students are in the class, but do not need to track any other data or history.
    • Selecting None disables the ability to list any students in the class.
    Students
    Display Override Select your preferred screen-sharing method—New Window, Follow Along, or Preview. This sets your default screen-sharing method when you begin your lesson; however, you can also change this during each session from the Class Level Overview page. N/A
    Grade Level

    A specific Grade Level is required if the Class Type = WinVocab. If you are using WinVocab and the Class Type = Multi-Product, the class will automatically be assigned to the WinVocab word list for the selected grade level. 

    For all other Class Types, you can leave the Grade Level N/A if you desire.

    School Year In Sonday System Digital, each academic year ends June 1. Keep the default value of N/A if your school year ends after June 1. N/A
    Class Color This will help differentiate between classes on your dashboard if you have more than one class. Some teachers name the class according to the color they choose. Gray
    Schedule Optional field. This information helps you easily keep track of your classes and appears in the Class Detail page for each class. None
    Preferred System Optional field. This is only applicable for Multi-Product Classes if you are assigned both SS1 and SS2 in your educator account. The product you select will be displayed on the Class Detail page with a quick link to begin a session.  None
    Preferred Essentials Optional field. This is only applicable for Multi-Product Classes if you are assigned multiple Essentials grade levels in your educator account. The product you select will be displayed on the Class Detail page with a quick link to begin a session. None
    Follow Code If you are using the Follow Along student display option, you can edit the class’s unique Follow Code here to make it easier for students to remember and type. system-generated alpha-numeric string
    Status

    Classes cannot be deleted, but you can set the status to Inactive or Archived to hide them from view. 

     Tip

    If you prefer to see inactive and/or archived classes, select Show Inactive Content? and/or Show Archived Content? in your Digital Settings and the applicable classes will display in the Class List with "Inactive" or "Archived" in parentheses next to the class name.

  5. At the bottom of the page, click Submit.
