Several different types of student activities are available in WinVocab. Be sure to vary which ones you use in order to keep students motivated and engaged.
To access the list of activities and preview each type:
- Log into WinVocab.
- Click the drop-down menu by your name and then select Activities.
- The list of all the activities displays with the applicable grade levels, teacher instructions, and the time you should allot for each activity type.
Click Example Student PDF next to each activity to see a sample of the student material for that activity, or Example Teacher PDF to see the complete teacher instructions for that activity.
The Student PDF is a one-page document with instructions and a space to complete the work (if the work is to be done on paper). However, it is not necessary to print a copy of the PDF for each student unless you want to—most activities are simple enough for students to write directly on their own sheets of paper or in a notebook.

The Example Teacher PDFs are generally four pages long. In addition to the teacher instructions, the Teacher PDF also includes a page for displaying only the vocabulary word on a screen, a page for displaying the word along with its definition, and an example of completed student work for the selected activity.Page 3 from an Example Teacher PDF.
Note
Some activity types require the word to have synonyms or both synonyms and antonyms.
