Overview of the Imagine Sonday System products

The Imagine Sonday System is a collection of products that offers structured, systematic, multisensory reading instruction. Some products offer on-grade-level instruction and some were designed specifically for intervention.

Some of the products are available in print and digital formats, some are only digital, and others are only print. However, even the print-only offerings contain digital resources to supplement the printed material.

Product Description Implementation model Print-only version available? Fully digital version available?
Lets Play Learn (LPL) Pre-reading instruction focused on reading readiness. LPL is based on Orton-Gillingham principles and can be used for Tiers 1, 2, and 3 as well as direct instruction for all students. The curriculum also covers shapes, colors, and numbers. Whole class, one-on-one, or small group. Lesson duration varies because it offers teachers several activities from which to choose. Yes No, but there is a digital download code that provides access to songs, worksheets, and reference materials
Sonday System 1 (SS1)

For beginning readers (reading levels corresponding to Grades K–2). Intervention program for Tiers 2 and 3. Instruction is based on skill or stage rather than age or grade. Each lesson plan uses proven Orton-Gillingham methods to provide effective intervention in small group settings.

The curriculum for SS1 begins with a review of pre-reading skills and then moves on to phonics (vowels, vowel pairs, and diphthongs) and consonant blends and digraphs. Students learn how to blend sounds together for reading and break sounds apart for spelling, and the English language rules for sounding out words (a.k.a. the phonemic code) are explicitly taught.

 Note

For BTS 2026, we are launching Sonday System Secondary 1—a new program based on the SS1 scope and sequence but specifically designed to better engage students in Grade 4 and above.
