Welcome to WinLit

WinLit is a series of 6 modified literary classics designed to make reading more accessible to students with reading delays and disabilities. With WinLit, you can introduce children to literary classics on their own level. In fact, for each novel, 2 versions are available:

  • Adapted Readers: For students with pre-symbolic reading skills or significant cognitive disabilities who require age-respectful literature. To support reading comprehension, these readers feature simple sentences and pictorial representations of key words.

  • Hi-Lo (High interest/low reading level) Readers: For students who can read independently but still need support. The Hi-Lo Readers contain more complex sentences and a more complex story structure than the Adapted Readers.
