WinVocab includes a preset list of 180 age-appropriate vocabulary words for each grade level. You can select a word to teach for each day of the school year. To view the word list for your class, click your name in the upper right corner of the screen and select Word Lists from the dropdown menu.
Select the desired grade level tab along the top to view its corresponding Word List.
Note
Each Word List displays the words in a preset, randomized order—they do not need to be taught in this order.
The Word Lists present the Vocabulary Words on the left and the Class Name(s) on the right.
If a word has been taught to a given class, the Lesson History is displayed in the corresponding class column(s), showing the date and time the word was taught as well as which activity was used.
If a word has not been taught to a given class, there will be a + symbol next to the word in the class column(s). Click the + to open the Lesson Detail for the corresponding class.
Tip
To teach words from a different grade level than the one your class is assigned to, change the class's grade level to match the level with the desired Word List; after your teaching session, edit the class again to revert to its original grade level. (See the Edit a Class article for detailed instructions on editing class information.) To teach a specific word from a different grade level, you may simply re-create it as a custom word.
Click on any word listed in the Vocabulary Word column to open its Word Detail page.
The Word Detail page displays a word’s information and any lessons in which the word was taught to any of the classes within the relevant grade level.
Under Lessons Taught, selecting Teach Again will open the corresponding class’s Lesson Detail page, where you can choose an activity and reteach the word.
