New Window is one option for displaying student-only content. When you begin advancing through the slides during a teaching session and the New Window display method is selected, the new window automatically pops up, and you can drag it onto another monitor or screen.
Caution
In order for the New Window display method to work correctly, your browser's pop-up blocker must be disabled.
To display student content in class or remotely, share only the pop-up window with students. Follow the instructions for extending your display to drag the new window to your display device, such as a monitor or a smart board/interactive white board. You can view and control what students are seeing in the New Window using the Slide Controller in the lesson plan window.
Troubleshooting tips
If the New Window display is not popping up when you advance through the slides in a lesson, make sure it is toggled on and that your pop-up blocker is disabled.
If you repeatedly encounter issues or lagging response times with the window, consider sharing slides via the Follow Along option instead, which has faster loading times due to less required bandwidth.
If the window is going blank or not updating for students when you click through slides, the issue is usually caused by interactions between your browser or internet connection and the Imagine Sonday System program.
Some troubleshooting steps you can try are:
- Clear the cookies and cache in your web browser.
- Check that your Wi-Fi signal is strong enough to support all of the applications.
- Try using a different browser.
- Talk to your IT representative and see if there's any software on your computer, such as antivirus or pop-up blocking software, that would prevent the New Window display from updating.
