In the digital platform, students cannot be deleted, but Teachers and Administrators can set the student’s status to Inactive or Archived to hide their profile in the Manage Students list and in any classes they are assigned to. This is done by editing the student's status on their Student Detail page.
Recommendation
Students should be deactivated when they are not currently being taught in your License Group. They should be archived if they will never be taught again in your License Group.
To deactivate a student:
- Log in to Sonday System Digital at teacher.imaginesonday.com.
-
Access the Student Detail page in one of the following ways:
Starting Point Steps Teaching Dashboard A. Select the Students tab.
B. Click the tile of the applicable student.
Profile menu A. From the dropdown menu by your name in the top right corner of the dashboard, select Manage Students.
B. In the list of students that opens, click Details in the applicable row.
- In the Student Information section of the Student Detail page, click Edit.
-
Change the student's status to either Inactive or Archived, then click Submit.
You will receive a confirmation that the student was updated successfully.
Additional Information:
By default, inactive and archived students will not be visible anywhere in the system. If you want to view or edit inactive or archived students, you must first set the Show Inactive Content? and/or Show Archived Content? fields in your teacher profile to Yes.
Once your Digital Settings are set to Yes in these fields, the word "Inactive" or "Archived" will appear in parentheses next to inactive/archived students’ display names on the Manage Students page.
