Note
This article applies if you're using the New Window or Follow Along display methods.
If you have two screens that can be connected directly by HDMI, USB-C, or other cables, you can extend your screen from your control device (where you navigate teacher and student content) to the secondary display device (where student content will be displayed).
Begin by making sure the two devices are connected, then follow these steps to extend your display and set up for teaching.
Navigate to Windows Settings > System > Display. Select Extend these displays to set your display to connect to a second screen, not just duplicate a single display.
If desired, you can rearrange your screens at the top of the Display section. Screen 1 should be your control device, which will display the teacher content in a lesson. If needed, drag to rearrange and establish whether your control device is to the left or to the right of your second screen. Then click Apply.
Navigate to System Settings > Displays. In the Use as section, set the drop-down to Extended display to extend your screen onto a connected display rather than duplicate your screen.
Click Arrange... to rearrange your screens depending on whether your display device is to the left or right of your control device.
Once your screen is extended, open the New Window or Follow Along window and drag it onto your second screen.
Display only the second screen to students, and use the first screen to control the lesson. You can use a remote clicker if you'd like to walk around your classroom while moving from slide to slide.
