Deactivate a Student

Students cannot be deleted, but you can set the student’s status to "Inactive" or "Archived" to deactivate their profile and remove them from any classes they are assigned to. This can be done by editing the student's status on their Student Detail page.

 Recommendation

Students should be deactivated when they are not being actively taught in your License Group. They should be archived if they will never be taught again in your License Group.

From the Teaching Dashboard, click the Students tab and select a student or navigate to the Manage Students page from the dropdown menu by your name and select a student from there.

Once you are viewing that student's Student Detail page, click 'Edit' in the Student Information box.

Set their status to either Inactive or Archived, then click 'Submit,' to deactivate the student's profile.

By default, inactive and archived students will not be visible anywhere in the system. If you want to view or edit inactive or archived students, you will need to change your Digital Settings in your profile (found in the dropdown menu by your name).

If the Digital Settings in your profile are set to "Show Inactive Content" and/or "Show Archived Content," the word "Inactive" or "Archived" will appear in parentheses next to inactive/archived students’ display names.
