There are several fields you can edit while creating a class, but only those with red asterisks (*) are required.

1. *Class Name
Create a unique class name to differentiate from other classes.
2. Class ID
Optional field. Use if needed to keep track of the class ID as assigned by your school.
3. *Class Type
Select which product(s) you will be using for this class.

Select Multi-Product Class if you plan to teach a class using multiple products (e.g., both Sonday System Essentials Digital and Sonday System 1 Digital).

 Note

Once you have selected Multi-Product Class as the Class Type, you cannot change the class back to a single-product class.

If you plan to teach a class using a single product, select that product (SS1, SS2, EK, E1, E2, E3, E4, E5, or VOC (WinVocab)).

4. *Roster Type
Select a type of roster for this class. The default Roster Type is Students, which is recommended to enable tracking of student information.

Select Students to enable tracking of session history, student attendance, and assessments.

Select List Only to enter students’ names only without enabling any student data tracking. Useful if you need to remember which students are in a class.

Select None to disable the ability to list any students in the class.

5. *Grade Level
Required field for Multi-Product and WinVocab classes, optional field for single-product classes. If you have WinVocab as an available product, a Multi-Product Class with the grade level selected will default to the vocabulary list for that grade.
6. *School Year
Required, but can be set to N/A if you prefer not to specify an academic year for a class.
7. *Class Color
This will help differentiate classes. Some teachers do this step first and then name the class according to the color they chose.
8. Schedule
Optional field. This information helps you easily keep track of your classes and appears in the Class Detail page for each class.

When you are finished, click 'Create Class Now.'

 Note

If you are using the Remote Follow Feature, the class’s unique Follow Code will be generated automatically after the class is created. To change it to something more memorable and easy for students to type, go to the Class Detail page for that class and click 'Edit.'
